The Moen kitchen faucet is a popular product and is generally easy to install. The instructions that come with the product should be followed closely, as they vary slightly based on the particular model. Installation of a Moen kitchen faucet is typically a simple process that will be similar for nearly all models. Some faucets do not include the attached supply tubes and will require that you buy separately flexible supply tubes. Follow these steps to install the Moen kitchen faucet:

> Turn off the water to the old faucet by closing the shutoff valves on the hot and cold water supply pipes under the sink. Turn off the shutoff valve handles until they stop, then check to make sure that the water is off.

> To disconnect the faucet’s flexible supply tubes from the shutoff valves, use channel-lock pliers. Now loosen the nut. To loosen the compression nut on the supply tube, hold the valve body in place with one pair of pliers and loosen the compression nut with the other.

> To remove the old faucet, loosen the mounting nut that secures it to the underside of the sink. It is helpful to have a basin wrench in order to reach up into this tight space. When the nut is loosened, then unthread it all the way. Now pull the faucet up from the top of the sink.

> To disconnect the sprayer hose from the faucet, remove the nut holding the sprayer hose to the faucet, and also remove the mounting nut holding the sprayer tailpiece to the sink.

> When the faucet and sprayer are removed, clean the top deck of the sink, you will need to remove any stains left at the base of the faucet.

> Now fit the deck gasket onto the new faucet and connect the flexible supply lines. Position the faucet body over the hole in the sink deck and feed the supply tubes through it. Before you attach the faucet to the sink, make sure it is in the correct position and that it fits well.

> The rectangular support plate is placed on the underside of the sink, fitting it over the supply tubes. Underneath the rectangular plate, place a round plate. Connect the brass mounting nut with the faucet tailpiece.

> Check the position of the faucet over the sink and tightened it. The faucet must be tightened securely to the sink in order to prevent it from moving.

> Attach the spray hose to the faucet spray wand by screwing it on. Feed the other end of the hose into the faucet spout until it comes out under the sink. Remove the white cap from the end of the hose.

> Now attach the spray hose to the faucet, push it into place and use the white clip to hold it in place. Attach the weight to the hose and position it near the white tape on the hose. The weight must move freely with the spray hose.

> Connect the hot and cold water supply tubes to the valves on the hot and cold water supply pipes. Thread the compression nut for each line onto the corresponding shutoff valve, and tighten it with two pairs of pliers.

> Confirm that the water is turned on and there are no leaks in the flexible tubes or the spray hose.
